Bookfest Chișinău 2023: Largest International Book Fair in Moldova returns
The sixth edition of Bookfest Chișinău, the largest international book fair in Moldova, will take place from August 30 to September 3, 2023. The fair is supported by the Romanian government's Department for Relations with Moldova (DRRM).
Admission to all events is free. Major publishers from Romania and Moldova will be present, with books exclusively in Romanian.
Cultural figures from both sides of the Prut River, including Radu Paraschivescu, Cristian Mungiu, Radu Vancu, Ioana Pârvulescu, Adrian Cioroianu, Veronica D. Niculescu, Ligia Ruscu, Mariana Sipoș, Bogdan Crețu, Cristian Tudor Popescu, Cătălin Dorian Florescu, Ștefan Lemny, Liviu Cîmpeanu, George Cornilă, Bogdan Murgescu, Cristian Manolachi, Moni Stănilă, Andreea Iatagan, Vitalie Ciobanu, and many others, will be at Bookfest Chișinău for book launches and presentations that address issues of interest to public debates in Romanian and Moldovan society.
Bookfest Chișinău 2023 is held under the High Patronage of the presidents of Romania and Moldova, Klaus Iohannis and Maia Sandu. It is a sign of Romania's support for Moldova and shows the special contribution of culture, books, and literature to Moldova's democratic path to Europe.
The fair will take place at Mediacor, the State University of Moldova.
The DRRM supports projects and initiatives in support of Moldovan citizens with the goal of consolidating the community of language, culture, religion, spirituality, and history that is the foundation of the relationship between Romania and Moldova.
