Cristian Pîrvulescu: Outside the EU it is very difficult to achieve prosperity

Romanian political scientist Cristian Pîrvulescu spoke on the show "In Context" on the public TV channel Moldova 1 that Ukraine's victory is not simple. The enlargement of the European Union and the restoration of territorial integrity depend to a large extent on Ukraine's success and at the same time public opinion is very important. At the moment these processes are not unanimous at European level, because Russia is trying to use some national governments to prevent Western support for Ukraine.

"However from a military point of view, Russia has suffered a defeat and humiliation from a five-day war we have reached the war that has been going on for a year and a half and better and will continue for a long time to come. Russia is on the defensive, it is on the defensive, trying to fight back. Militarily, Russia has proved that it is no longer a great power, it is at best a regional power. As I said, there is no alternative for Moldova, Russia or the European Union. This illusion of neutrality and independence that could ensure prosperity is false, it is obvious to all reasonable people and to all the countries that have joined the EU. Outside the EU it is very difficult to achieve prosperity", said political scientist Cristian Pîrvulescu.
