New Chisinau-Athens flight to start in November
Moldova's President Maia Sandu announced today that a new Chisinau-Athens flight will begin on November 2. The flight will operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, from Chisinau International Airport.
“Aegean Airlines will launch the Chisinau-Athens flight, with two weekly flights. We will be able to travel more easily for tourism or business, and Moldovans living in Greece will be able to travel home more often to see their families,” Sandu wrote on her Facebook page.
Sandu also noted that relations between Moldova and Greece are very good. In this context, she announced that the Greek embassy will be opened in Chisinau soon and that an agreement on the mutual recognition of driving licences will be signed. She also said that Moldova has already signed a framework contract with Greece's gas operator to purchase natural gas, which will help to diversify the country's energy sources and improve its energy security.
Sandu assured that the authorities in Chisinau will deepen relations with Greece, as well as with other European countries, for the benefit of citizens.
