MApN said its forces monitored the situation in real time and found no evidence that any Russian drones had fallen on Romanian territory. The ministry also said that the means of attack used by the Russian Federation did not pose a direct military threat to Romania.

Earlier on Monday, a Ukrainian foreign ministry official said that Russian drones had fallen and been detonated on Romanian territory. The official, Oleg Nikolenko, said that this was "yet another confirmation that Russia's terror poses a huge threat not only to the security of Ukraine, but also to the security of neighbouring countries, including NATO member states."

The Romanian ministry reiterated that it has taken measures to strengthen vigilance in the national land, sea, and air space and is helping to strengthen the defence and deterrence posture on the eastern flank.

The ministry also condemned the Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports, calling them "unjustified" and in "deep contradiction with the rules of international humanitarian law."
