"I thank all our citizens who, in these two years, put their shoulders to make Moldova a better place. We will continue to work to have a free and prosperous country. We will achieve this together, united and in solidarity", wrote Maia Sandu in the description of the video images. Among the achievements, Maia Sandu noted that the Republic of Moldova obtained the status of a candidate country for EU accession. "We restored and strengthened good relations with neighboring countries and with the country's development partners and firmly anchored the Republic of Moldova on the path of European integration," said Maia Sandu. The president also referred to the crises the country faced - the COVID-19 pandemic, the increase in gas and electricity prices and the war at the border of the Republic of Moldova. "The difficulties did not tear us down, on the contrary, we continued to build. We started almost 500 projects to modernize villages and cities, improved hundreds of kilometers of road, renovated maternity hospitals and schools (...), increased prices, returned the Airport and bus stations to the state, signed agreements. We are working to ensure the energy security of the country", said Maia Sandu. And the expert Ion Tăbârță believes that the main achievements of President Maia Sandu, in these two years, are in terms of foreign policy. These are also argued by the fact that the Republic of Moldova obtained the status of a candidate country for EU accession. Currently, our country has a very good image on the outside, and this, in large part, is thanks to Maia Sandu, the expert also told Radio Moldova. According to him, internal issues, such as reforming the judiciary, fighting corruption and some institutional reforms, still remain unresolved. We remind you that on December 24, 2020, Maia Sandu was inaugurated as president of the Republic of Moldova, after the victory on November 15, 2020, when the second round of the presidential elections took place.
