NATO closely monitoring situation after Russian drone debris found in Romania

NATO has expressed strong solidarity with Romania after pieces of a Russian drone were found on Romanian territory near the border with Ukraine, Digi24 reports.

The interim spokesperson for NATO, Dylan White, said that the Alliance is closely monitoring the situation and that it remains in close contact with Romania.

White also added that NATO has significantly increased its presence in the Black Sea region in response to Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.

In an official statement, Iohannis said that the possible discovery would be a "serious violation of sovereignty" and that he had ordered an urgent investigation.

Defense Minister Angel Tîlvăr has acknowledged that pieces of a Russian drone were found on Romanian territory. The remains are now being analysed by authorities to verify if it is a Russian drone.
