German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock visits Ukraine and expresses support for EU accession

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock arrived in Ukraine on an unannounced visit on the morning of Monday, September 11, writes Ukrinform.

Ukraine defends freedom and all of us with great courage and determination. Just as Ukraine is behind us, so it must be able to count on us," Baerbock said after arriving in Kiev.

According to her, the European Union is currently preparing a decision on the start of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU.

"The results of the judicial reform (in Ukraine - ed.) and the legislation on mass media are already visible. The implementation of the anti-oligarchy law and the fight against corruption are still ahead," said the head of the German Foreign Ministry. She pointed out that "Putin's terrible terror is manifested in targeted attacks on everyday life and civilian institutions in Ukraine." "Putin wants to destroy, discourage and demoralize people. For this, he stops at nothing - neither in front of schools, nor in front of markets, nor in front of railway stations", noted the politician.

Baerbock also mentioned the forced deportation of Ukrainian children to the Russian Federation from the occupied territories. "We support organizations, Ukrainian authorities and non-governmental organizations working for the return home of abducted children. These crimes have been revealed. The indictment at the International Criminal Court is also an important contribution to this case," Annalena Baerbock pointed out.

This is Annalena Baerbock's fourth visit to Ukraine since the beginning of large-scale Russian aggression.
