Russia strikes again at Ukrainian ports on Danube

Russia has struck again at Ukrainian ports on the Danube, according to Digi24.ro, reporting that air raid sirens and explosions were heard in Reni, Izmail, and Chilia.

According to Ukrainian Telegram channels, infrastructure at the port in Reni was targeted.

The explosions also caused damage to the homes of local residents. Six people were injured, according to the Ukrainian governor.

There were also attacks to the east, in the Cetatea Albă district, not far from the border with Moldova.

Overnight, the governor of the Odesa region, which includes the Danube ports, warned residents to take shelter immediately and not to film, so as not to reveal to the Russians the location of anti-aircraft batteries.

Ukrainians in the area were on alert all night. They were informed that drones were coming at midnight. It was only around 5 am that the alarm was lifted. Sirens were also heard on the Romanian side of the river.

Ukraine attacked the port of Sevastopol with 10 cruise missiles and three unmanned boats, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The Russians say that air defence systems shot down seven missiles, and a patrol ship destroyed all the drone boats. Three missiles hit the naval shipyard of the Russian Black Sea Fleet and a repair plant.

Two ships under repair were damaged and 24 people were injured, according to the occupation authorities in Crimea.
