Farul coach Gheorghe Hagi was furious with the decision, calling it "inexplicable" at the post-match press conference.

The goal came from Darius Olaru, who converted the penalty after Adrian Șut was adjudged to have been fouled by Tudor Băluță.

The win moves FCSB to the top of the table, four points ahead of CS Universitatea Craiova.

In another match from the 9th round, FC Hermannstadt came from behind to beat FC Voluntari 3-1.

Former Moldovan international Igor Armaș provided the assist for the first goal for FC Voluntari, but the Sibiu side turned the game around with goals from Dragoș Iancu, Daniel Paraschiv, and Petrișor Petrescu.

Armaș was sent off in the 82nd minute for a second yellow card.

With the win, FC Hermannstadt moved up to seventh place in the table, while FC Voluntari is in 10th place.
