Ukraine makes gains in eastern Ukraine, liberates two villages
Ukraine announced that it shot down 18 Russian drones and 17 missiles fired by Russian forces. In total, the enemy launched 24 drones in the Odessa and Mykolaiv regions of southern Ukraine.
Several unmanned vehicles hit their target and hit grain warehouses. Missiles were shot down over the Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava and Khmelnytsky regions. At the same time, Kiev troops liberated two villages in three days in the Bahmut area. Moscow has not commented on the information.
New attacks took place in southern Ukraine, in the villages near the Danube ports. Residents of Tulcea and Galați received RO-Alert warnings and were advised to go down to basements or bomb shelters.
"Mama mia! - Hold on! - Wow! - The alarm went off in the car."
"One more coming! - That's anti-aircraft! - Wow! (explosion)"
The enemy leaves only ruins behind. The village of Kleshcheievka, as well as Andreevka, liberated a few days ago, both villages are located only a few kilometres from Bahmut, and they are of major importance regarding access to this city, which is still under Russian occupation. Kyiv has declared that it has taken them under control, but Moscow has not yet commented on the changes on the front line.
Ukrainian troops have announced the liberation of the villages of Kleshcheievka and Andreevka in the Donetsk region - villages located a few kilometres south of Bahmut.
VOX: "We have liberated the settlement of Kleshcheievka, Donetsk region, from Russian occupation. The enemy does not cease its attempts to conquer it using all available methods, attacking with artillery. But we remain firm and confident, because this is our land. Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine!"
Military experts believe that now Ukrainian soldiers will be able to occupy better positions for a counteroffensive in the city occupied by Russian troops, for which fierce fighting has been going on for more than a year. A video recording with the Ukrainian flag hoisted in Kleshcheievka appeared the day before, the capture of the village being announced by the commander of the ground forces Olexandr Sirski, and by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"I would like to especially mention the fighters who are gradually recovering Ukrainian territory in the Bahmut area. The 80th Airborne Assault Brigade, the 5th Assault Brigade, the glorious 95th Mixed Assault Brigade and the National Police Assault Brigade. Kleshcheievka! Bravo!" said President Zelensky.
The Russian Ministry of Defense did not mention the loss of positions, but some of the so-called "Russian war correspondents" have acknowledged that the Kremlin army has ceded these villages. Others claim that the villages are in the "grey zone" and are not fully controlled by either opponent.
Military experts call Kleshcheievka and Andreevka the "keys to Bahmut". On the outskirts of the village of Kleshcheievka there are high hills that allow control of both Bahmut and the road to Horlivka, which supplies Russian troops. In addition, the railway to Horlivka and Donetsk passes through this area.
On the other hand, the Russians claim to have shot down several Ukrainian drones in Crimea, in the Moscow region, as well as in the Belgorod and Voronezh regions bordering Ukraine. Both the Crimean bridge and the airports in the Russian capital suspended their activities for several hours.
