Siegfried Mureșan: The resolution regarding the European path of the Republic of Moldova will be adopted by the European Parliament in October
The European Parliament will adopt a resolution regarding the European course of the Republic of Moldova, in a plenary session, in October. A decision in this regard was taken at the Conference of Presidents of Political Groups in the European Parliament, announced MEP Siegfried Mureșan.
According to the official, the Group of the European People's Party requested the organization of a debate and the adoption of the resolution regarding the Republic of Moldova. In this way, the European Parliament wants to reiterate its clear position regarding the start of the accession negotiations of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union by the end of the year.
We remind you that, last June, the Republic of Moldova received the status of a candidate country for joining the European Union. The Chisinau authorities were presented nine conditionalities in order to proceed to the next stage of accession - that of negotiations. This fall, the level of implementation of the European Commission's recommendations will be evaluated, and at the end of this year, the European institutions will announce a decision on the start of negotiations for EU accession.
