A festival dedicated to volunteer firefighters was held in Cantemir district
More than 100 volunteer firefighters from the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Austria demonstrated their skills and exchanged experience during a festival that took place in the village of Capaclia, Cantemir district. The rescuers say that although it is extremely hard and dangerous work, they are ready to save people in risk situations.
The volunteer firefighters were tasked with working as a team and completing several tests. Although they say that the work is difficult, they are ready to help people at risk.
"We are ready, we participated in the first edition, we already have to participate in the second one, we are the host. We participate in many rescue events. It's complicated, but we're holding on with our own strength, we feel very good," said Alexandru Busuioc, deputy chief of the Capaclia fire department.
During the event, volunteer firefighters received diplomas for their work.
"In the Republic of Moldova there are already 20 completely voluntary positions that do this work every day. We aim for the number of these voluntary positions to increase more and more", said the head of IGSU Alexandru Oprea.
"We want to bring this activity into a regulatory framework so that, at least at the end of next year, we will have a law regarding the activity of volunteering in this specialized field," says Jana Costachi, state secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The 2nd edition of the festival represents a platform for collaboration and exchange of experience between volunteer firefighters from our country and those from Romania and Austria.
