The pen used by Maia Sandu to sign the country's official application for EU membership, sold at a charity auction

The pen used by the president of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, to sign the official application for the country's accession to the European Union, was sold at a charity auction for the sum of 6,000 euros. It happened during an event hosted by the non-governmental organization "Child, Community, Family". The name of the owner of the historic pen was not revealed.

"The auction took place as part of the 10th edition of the Generosity Ball, organized by CCF Moldova together with patron Valentina Naforniţa. At the auction we had many art objects, among them was this pen. The pen with which the application for accession to the European Union was signed by Maia Sandu was sold for 6,000 euros", said for Moldova 1 TV, the spokesperson of CCF Moldova, Dan Melnic.

A manuscript signed by master Eugen Doga was sold for 10 thousand euros. The manuscript contains the notes with the lyrics of the song "Tara mea" and the autograph of the great composer.

Among other things, the following were put up for auction: "Oro Nero" cheese, three vintage pallets from the 60s, a weekend at the Reguta Italia winery, an eight-day vacation in Sri Lanka, etc.

Thus, following the auction, the sum of 41,350 euros was collected. The collected funds will finance the program of educational inclusion of children with special needs, prevention of family abandonment.
