First "National Ambulance Day" is marked in the Republic of Moldova

Today, in the Republic of Moldova, first "National Ambulance Day" is marked, after the Government approved its establishment in order to increase the degree of responsibility of citizens, both for protecting their own lives and those around them.

Currently, around 5,600 employees are active in the pre-hospital emergency medical assistance service, who intervene annually in about 1 million requests.

The service is also essential in exceptional cases, such as pandemics, earthquakes, floods, the refugee crisis or war, according to the Ministry of Health.

Ambulance Day is marked in several European countries, including Romania, by organizing events with the participation of the population, medical institutions, authorities and NGOs.
