The European Parliament demands the opening of negotiations with the Republic of Moldova. The MEPs adopted the resolution on the European course, after the debates on Tuesday evening. Therefore, the EU Parliament requests the launch of accession talks by the end of the year.
The resolution was approved with a wide majority of 448 votes. Only 45 MEPs were against, and another 43 abstained. According to the European Parliament, the Moldovan government has demonstrated determination, that it can implement the Commission's recommendations. The accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union is a strategic investment for the Europe of the future, united and strong.
So, for Moldovan citizens, the advantages will of course be in raising the standard of living. The national governments must help the Republic of Moldova, approve financial and technical assistance in such a way that the integration is fast, to reduce the gap between us and the rest of Europe.
The request addressed to the European Commission is to transfer a new tranche of the macro-financing of almost 300 million euros.
MEPs recommend Moldovan politicians, public authorities and civil society to reach a consensus on anti-corruption reforms, resetting the judicial system and deoligarization.
We remind you that the commission's report will be published in the coming weeks. In Chisinau and Brussels, expectations are optimistic.
