Norway will offer a grant of over 34 million euros to the Republic of Moldova
The Government of Norway is willing to grant the Republic of Moldova a grant worth 34 million euros, through the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), to strengthen the energy security of the country.
In this sense, the members of the Foreign Policy and European Integration Commission approved the advisory opinion for the initiation of negotiations and the approval of the signing of the Grant Agreement between our country and the EBRD in order to realize the "Security of Natural Gas Supply" project, informs the Legislative in a press release.
According to the source, the money is to be used for the purchase of natural gas and the replenishment of stocks, as well as for the diversification of suppliers and sources of supply of energy resources.
Previously, the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development signed a loan agreement, worth 300 million euros, in order to achieve the "Security of Natural Gas Supply" project.
