Local election ballots in Moldova to be distinguished by colour

Ballots for the upcoming local elections in Moldova on November 5 will be printed on opaque paper and will be distinguished by colour, according to the Central Election Commission (CEC).

Ballots for the election of mayors of villages (communes), towns (municipalities) will be pink. Those for the election of the mayor of Bălți and the general mayor of Chișinău will be purple.

Ballots for the election of councillors in village (communal), town (municipal) councils will be grey, while those for the election of councillors in district (municipal Bălți and Chișinău) councils will be beige.

The first- and second-level constituency electoral councils will approve the texts of the ballots by October 15.

At the general local elections on November 5, 898 mayors and 11,058 local councilors will be elected, of which 9,972 will be village (communal) and town (municipal), and 1,086 will be district/municipal.
