The entire territory of Ukraine is, this morning, under an air alert, the Ukrainian press announces. The first explosions, according to Ukrainskaia Pravda, were heard a short time ago in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. The Ukrainian authorities reported attacks in the morning on the Sumy and Odessa regions, and at night on Dnepropetrovsk. Meanwhile, experts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) have suggested that Russia's armed forces are preparing for "decisive action" in the Lugansk region.
According to Ukrainskaia Pravda, the air alert was issued in the morning of today, December 29, throughout Ukraine. The Ukrainian press writes that shortly after, the sounds of explosions were heard in Kyiv and Odesa. Meanwhile, the head of the military administration of the Nikolaev region, Vitalii Kim, said that the first Russian missiles fell in the morning in Sumy.
"The first rockets in Sumy. Unfortunately," Vitalii Kim wrote on his Telegram channel, according to the quoted source.
The attacks did not stop this night either. The head of the military administration of the Dnepropetrovsk region, Valentin Reznichenko, accuses the Russian military of attacking the Dnepropetrovsk region with kamikaze drones and heavy artillery.
“Our defenders shot down all the stray ammunition that the enemy sent to the Dnepropetrovsk region. And these were five 'Shaheds'. Russian occupation troops covered the Nikopol region with heavy artillery fire three times. Deadly projectiles flew in Nikopol and the community of Marganets," said Valentin Reznichenko, the Ukrainska Pravda reports.
According to the source, as a result of the bombings, a tall building, several private houses and several power lines were damaged.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announces that on the night of December 29, the Russians attacked, including, the energy infrastructure in Kharkiv with 13 Iranian Shahed drones, 11 of which were shot down by units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Also, according to the cited source, more than 70 attacks were launched from several missile launch systems.
"The enemy continues to conduct offensive operations in the directions of Bahamut and Avdeevski. It is trying to improve the tactical situation in the direction of Liman," announces the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the source, on December 28, Ukrainian aviation launched 17 strikes against the concentration areas of the Russian armed forces and four strikes against the positions of its anti-aircraft missile systems. Missile and artillery units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit five command posts, three manpower concentration areas and an ammunition depot controlled by Russian soldiers.
Meanwhile, experts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) have suggested that Russia's armed forces are preparing for "decisive action" in the Lugansk region. At the same time, ISW believes that it is unlikely that Russia will launch a new offensive in the Zaporozhye region during the winter. Experts also believe that the Russian offensive on Bahamut is likely to "come to a top point."
Moldova 1 recalls that Moscow has not yet commented on the accusations brought by Ukraine. However, the press agencies close to the Kremlin write that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would have bombed the regions of Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Luhansk, recently "annexed" to the Russian Federation. According to TASS, Donetsk was attacked 49 times during one day. Following the attacks, according to the cited source, one person died and three were injured.
