Moldova to cut red tape, boost economy with new business regulations
Moldova's government has announced a new set of regulations aimed at cutting red tape and boosting the economy. The package, which was presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitization Dumitru Alaiba, includes a number of measures, such as:
- Allowing electronic signatures to be obtained remotely
- Eliminating the right of consumers to return goods within the first six months of purchase

Alaiba said the changes would help to reduce bureaucracy, limit corruption and bribery, and allow entrepreneurs to focus on growth and job creation.
"The main goal of the Government of the Republic of Moldova is economic development and new opportunities for entrepreneurs," he said. "We have an ambitious agenda that focuses on attracting investment, access to finance, creating a favorable business environment, free of bureaucracy and corruption, and providing opportunities for the growth and development of economic agents. Our goal is not just a modest 2-3% annual growth, but accelerated economic growth to recover lost ground in the past."
Other changes include:
- Cancelling the complaint register
- Eliminating the consumer's right to return a good within the first six months
