Mureșan, who is a member of the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs, made the comments in an interview with Moldovan journalist Dan Alexe, which will be aired on Moldova 1 on Friday, October 13.

"Moldova has made enormous progress in the field of justice," Mureșan said. "The government's European aspirations match the standards required by the European Union."

Mureșan said that he is working to raise awareness of Moldova's progress in the European Parliament and to ensure that the country receives the assistance it needs from the EU.

"My number one goal is to inform the members of the European Parliament about the situation in Moldova and the importance of Moldova," Mureșan said. "My number two goal is to make sure that when Moldova needs help, it receives European help as quickly as possible. In the past two years, all proposals for assistance to Moldova have been voted on positively by the European Parliament, they have been voted on quickly, and they have been voted on with a large majority. My third goal is to obtain and maintain broad, cross-party support for Moldova."
