Security at Chisinau airport: Airlines will send information about passengers to the Border Police

Airlines will be obliged to provide the Border Police with data on passengers and aircrew coming to the Republic of Moldova. A decision in this regard was taken on Friday by the Commission for Emergency Situations, which changed the way in which the air operators will transmit to the border police the information about those who are to be transported to our country.

"After completing the boarding procedure, air operators will have the obligation to inform the Border Police about the personal data and citizenship of the people on board. Also, information will be provided regarding the take-off and landing time of the aircraft, the initial point of boarding, the status of the traveler, ticket and baggage data", said the spokesperson of the Government, Daniel Vodă.

According to the authorities, the information will be sent to the government e-mail. The measure comes to secure flights to the Republic of Moldova. We remind you that security measures on the territory of Chisinau International Airport were increased following the incident at the end of June, when a man from Tajikistan, Rustam Ashurov, killed a border policeman and a security guard, after he was denied entry into our country. Later, Ashurov died in the hospital.
