The Republic of Moldova appointed a new ambassador to Great Britain, marking an important moment in Moldovan-British relations. The official decree for the appointment of Ruslan Bolbocean as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland was signed by President Maia Sandu and was published in the Official Gazette, announces the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE ).

"This diplomatic appointment underlines the importance of strengthening bilateral relations with Great Britain, which have a significant impact on the resilience and security of the Republic of Moldova. The strong support provided by the United Kingdom contributes to the country's progress in the process of modernization and implementation of the reform agenda," reads the statement.

Ruslan Bolbocean, an experienced diplomat with a career of over 24 years in the diplomatic service, currently holds the position of State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova. In the past, he held important positions, such as deputy head of the bilateral cooperation department, head of the Eastern Europe and Asia Department, as well as representative of the Republic of Moldova at the GUAM Information Office based in Kyiv. In the period 2015-2021, Ruslan Bolbocean was the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Ukraine and by cumulation in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Armenia and Turkmenistan.
