.Cioloș: The European Commission will recommend the opening of negotiations on November 8
"On November 8, the European Commission will most likely send a positive signal for the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine." - claims Romanian MEP Dacian Cioloș in an interview conducted by journalist Dan Alexe for Moldova 1 TV. Also, Cioloș states that Israel will not replace Ukraine on the West's priority agenda.
"I don't think that Ukraine will be forgotten, neither from a budgetary nor from a political point of view. We will see. Sure, that's another topic we'll probably cover. At the European Council, messages will be given that the European Commission will record regarding the report that the commission will present, hopefully on November 8, regarding the preparation of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova to start accession negotiations - this could be a another signal. I think there are all the prerequisites for the negotiations to start this year, if only Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova are considered, that is, the stage of their preparation. It is possible that several member states will try to bring the situation of some countries from the Western Balkans back on the agenda." - said Dacian Cioloș, MEP and former prime minister of Romania.
In the coming weeks, the European Commission is going to publish the first enlargement report on the Republic of Moldova. Dan Alexe's interview with Dacian Cioloș will be broadcast on Thursday, October 26, at 1:00 p.m.
