Parliament accepted the resignation request of the director of CNA Iulian Rusu

Iulian Rusu's mandate as director of the National Anticorruption Center (CNA) has ended. Today, the Parliament accepted the resignation request submitted by him. According to the draft decision, voted by 65 deputies, with the termination of the mandate of the CNA director, the mandates of the institution's deputies – Vadim Cojocaru and Alexandr Pînzari – also terminate by law. The decision enters into force on the date of its adoption.

According to the legislation, the CNA director is appointed by the Parliament, with the vote of the majority of the elected deputies, for a five-year term, without the possibility of appointment for another term. His candidacy must be proposed by at least 20 deputies, with the positive opinion of the Legal, Appointments and Immunities Committee.
