EU offers the Republic of Moldova financial assistance worth 250 million euros

"We end another year full of challenges and successes with the reconfirmation of the commitment of the European Union to further support the pro-European aspirations of the Republic of Moldova. In the immediate next period, the EU will offer the Republic of Moldova financial support worth 250 million", reads the message of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova.

The Delegation of the European Union in the Republic of Moldova also announces that together with the European Investment Bank (EIB), the EU will invest between 150 and 170 million euros in the energy, transport and health infrastructure of the Republic of Moldova. According to the Ministry of Finance, since the beginning of the year, the Republic of Moldova has attracted about 671 million euros from development partners for direct budget support, by about 423 million euros more than was planned at the beginning of the budget year. Of these, over 420 million euros were transferred to the state budget after the three conferences of the Support Platform for Moldova.

In the first 10 months of 2024, the Republic of Moldova achieved a record level of table grape exports to the European Union, which doubled compared to the same period last year. According to Dumitru Alaiba, the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, the value of these exports reached 627 million lei, reflecting a 1.9-fold increase from the previous year.
