CSE has suspended the licenses of six TV stations. Dorin Recean: "We have evidence that these stations pursue an interest from outside the Republic of Moldova"

The Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE) decided to suspend the licenses of six television stations promoting foreign interests. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, in a post on Facebook. The decision was taken on the recommendation of the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS).

"These televisions are subordinate to the Plahotniuc and Șor criminal groups, which have joined their efforts to destabilize the country. We have evidence that these stations pursue an interest outside the Republic of Moldova, for destabilizing purposes. We will not allow this and we will always act promptly and decisively in the interest of the citizens", wrote the Prime Minister. We mention that, also today, during a briefing, the director of SIS Alexandru Musteață stated that these stations constantly promote manipulative narratives, which together with the informational aggression promoted by the external factor, generate an additional source of instability in the vicinity of Ukraine, NATO and the EU.

"The editorial policy of these stations is aimed at launching disinformation campaigns in the interest of individuals or legal entities included in the international sanctions lists of the EU, the USA, as well as the criminal group Șor", Musteață said. According to him, it is about Orizont TV, Itv, Prime, Publika TV, Canal 2 and Canal 3. The representatives of the targeted TV stations have not yet reacted to the decision of the CSE.

We remind you that, last year, the Commission for Emergency Situations suspended the broadcast licenses of six other television stations from the Republic of Moldova. It is about Primul in Moldova, RTR Moldova, Accent TV, NTV Moldova, Orhei TV and TV6. The decision was taken on the basis of several deviations regarding the coverage of events in the country and the war in Ukraine.
