Israel-Hamas war // Gaza Strip: Attacks near a Palestinian Red Crescent hospital
The Palestinian Red Crescent expressed its concern on Tuesday following the attacks launched near one of its hospitals in the north of the Gaza Strip, where civilians have taken refuge from the Israeli bombardment, reports Agerpres.ro.
Artillery and airstrikes continue in the Tel al-Hawa area of Gaza, where the al-Quds hospital was located, the organization said on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
The Red Crescent had already reported shelling in this area on Sunday evening.
The director of the hospital said he received an evacuation order from the Israeli army.
The director of the World Health Organization (WHO) described this call as "deeply worrying", appreciating that it is impossible to evacuate a hospital without endangering the lives of patients.
In addition to patients, the medical complex is home to 14,000 people who have taken refuge due to Israeli attacks, according to the Red Crescent.
Israel has repeatedly accused Hamas of using hospitals to hide weapons or fighters. The Palestinian Islamist movement has categorically denied this.
