Kiev, attacked, again, with drones. Ukrainians shot down 20 of them

Russia resumed drone attacks on Ukraine. At least 20 aircraft were shot down during the night over Kiev by the air defence system, the Ukrainian authorities announced. According to the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Kliciko, following the attack, energy infrastructure facilities were damaged, the supply of electricity and heat being interrupted. Missile debris injured one person.

The remains of a destroyed drone over Kiev fell on Monday morning in the north-eastern district of the capital, injuring a 19-year-old man, the city's mayor Vitali Kliciko said, Ukrainskaia Pravda reports.

According to presidential adviser Kirilo Tymoshenko, the drone debris hit the Desnianski district in northeastern Kyiv, damaging a building.

Ukraine's regional military command in the country's east said air defence systems destroyed nine Iranian-made Shahed drones over the Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye regions in the early hours of Monday.

According to Ukrainian officials, Russian forces continued to attack Kiev for a second night in a row after firing a barrage of rockets at the Ukrainian capital on New Year's Eve and earlier on Saturday. So far, Russia has not claimed any of the mentioned attacks.
