Sebastian Burduja: Romania is ready to deliver natural gas to the Republic of Moldova during the cold period
Romania will help the Republic of Moldova during the cold period of the year. In case of special requests from the Republic of Moldova or other states in the region, Romania can activate the secured option from Azerbaijan or that of importing liquefied gas via two routes. This was announced by the Romanian Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja.
According to the Minister of Energy, Romania will overcome the cold season by consuming only Romanian gas.
"We have a gas stock of almost 103%, so the overfilling was done with this gas stock as well, plus what we manage to produce during the cold season as well. In a normal winter, we will get through this season only with Romanian gas from what we have stored and what is produced. (...) If we have special requests from the Republic of Moldova or other states in the region, we are ready to activate an option with Azerbaijan, secured by Romania last spring, through which we have access to one billion cubic meters. If even that quantity will not be enough, we have the option of importing liquefied natural gas on the route Greece - Bulgaria - Romania or Turkey - Bulgaria - Romania", said Sebastian Burduja, quoted by Agerpres.
The official also pointed out that, at the present, the reservoirs in Romania are 74.7% full.
