The Republic of Moldova and Albania signed an Agreement on Police Cooperation
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, together with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Albania, Taulant Balla, signed, in Chisinau, the Agreement on Police Cooperation between the two states. Based on this document, collaboration in terms of the prevention, detection and police investigation of crimes will be improved, reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI).
According to the source, following the signing of the Agreement, a legal framework will be established that will facilitate the organization and conduct of special joint investigative activities to prevent and detect cross-border crimes, which represent a serious threat to the security of both states and the European Union.
"I am glad to have signed, today, the Intergovernmental Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Albania on police cooperation, which will significantly contribute to preventing, countering and fighting international cross-border crime, such as illegal migration, human or drug trafficking. It is a strong signal of confidence and a progressive step in the development of Moldovan-Albanian police cooperation, especially at the operational level", said the Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros.
The authorities of the two states will cooperate in the field of combating crimes related to cross-border crime, drug manufacturing and trafficking, pimping, trafficking in human beings and sexual exploitation of children, theft and illegal trafficking of weapons and armaments, but also in other areas, such as the eradication of computer crime. Also, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Albania, Taulant Balla, on a working visit to Chisinau, had a meeting with Prime Minister Dorin Recean, at the Government.
"Both the Republic of Moldova and Albania have a potential for the development of social-economic relations, with the launch of the accession process to the European Union. Today, the 15th bilateral agreement between our countries was concluded, which reconfirms the development of relations and the determination to advance cooperation in areas of common interest", said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
