15 injured children from Gaza who need treatment have arrived in Abu Dhabi
The first flight carrying injured Palestinian children from Gaza landed in Abu Dhabi. The plane was carrying about 15 children who need treatment alongside their families. They arrived from Egypt after leaving Gaza through the Rafah border crossing, BBC notes.
The United Arab Emirates is planning to bring around 1,000 women and children from Gaza to be treated in its hospitals in the coming days and weeks.
The Emirates Red Crescent is also building a field hospital on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing for those who are too ill to travel.
Hospitals in Gaza face significant challenges due to the Israeli siege, which caused a lack of fuel, water and basic supplies.
