Russian gas delivered to the left of the Nistru will be more expensive in January
In January, "Moldovagaz" will purchase natural gas from Gazprom at a price of approximately $1,230 per thousand cubic meters. All the volume of gas will be delivered to the left bank of the Nistru. This was announced by the president of the Board of Directors of "Moldovagaz", Vadim Ceban.
According to him, according to the purchase price determination formula, the final value of the Russian gas purchase price will be determined after January 10 of the current year. However, Vadim Ceban did not mention which volume will be procured in January. We mention that in December, "Moldovagaz" purchased gas from "Gazprom" for 785 US dollars. Therefore, gas purchased in January will be 56.7% more expensive. At the same time, the volume procured in December was 5.7 million cubic meters per day, similar to the one in November.
According to the contract concluded for the month of January, the Cuciurgan Power Plant will supply electricity to the right bank of the Nistru at the price of 73 dollars/MWh. The right bank of the Nistru is provided with gas procured by "Energocom". Thus, since December 4, "Energocom" ensures the daily consumption of the right bank, of about 3.5 million cubic meters, which it procures from the free market or provides from the created reserves. According to the CSE provision, "Energocom" was to deliver in December 2022 up to 100 million cubic meters of gas, equivalent to the consumption of one winter month, at a preliminary price of 1108.61 US dollars per thousand cubic meters.
