The Republic of Moldova will participate in the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union
The Republic of Moldova will participate in the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union. The draft law providing for this was voted in the first and second reading during the Parliament session.
According to the document, the agreement will facilitate coordination in the field of civil protection between our country and the EU member states, with the aim of improving the efficiency of the systems of prevention, preparation and response to natural and man-made disasters.
Also, the implementation of this Agreement will essentially contribute to increasing the security and safety of the population, as well as the environment. Moreover, the reaction time to emergency and exceptional situations will be reduced.
The agreement regarding the participation of the Republic of Moldova in the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union was signed on September 29, 2023. It will be applied from 2024 for an indefinite period.
