Zimbru played with a man down from the 47th minute after Ibrahima Soumah was sent off.

"There were moments that I liked and moments that I didn't like in today's match," Sheriff coach Roman Pilipciuk said after the game. "It's normal. A coach can't be happy with everything."

"I think this match brought us down to earth," Zimbru coach Lilian Popescu said. "It showed us what we need to work on. We will make conclusions. We still have one more game left this year against Dacia-Buiucani."

In another match from the 13th round of the Moldovan football championship, Milsami Orhei defeated Spartanii Selemet 3-1. Dumitru Rogac, Igor Lambarschi, and Radu Gînsari scored for the "red eagles," while Sorin Chele scored for the hosts.

Another match, between Petrocub Hâncești and CSF Bălți, ended with a 3-0 victory for the hosts.
