Power outages hit southern Moldova

Strong winds and snowfall caused power outages in 59 villages in the southern districts of the Republic of Moldova, according to electricity distributor Premier Energy. The company said that crews are working to restore power.

"As of 8:00 a.m. today, 38,000 customers in 59 villages in the southern districts (Comrat, Cahul, Cantemir, Vulcănești, Taraclia, Ciadîr-Lunga) are without electricity," the distributor announced.

It is worth noting that meteorologists have issued yellow and orange warnings for atmospheric instability throughout the country. The warning will remain in effect until Sunday at 8:00 p.m.
