Bus crash in Romania injures 15
15 people were injured on Sunday after a bus carrying 40 passengers overturned in Vaslui County, Romania. The local authorities activated the red alert plan for intervention, according to libertatea.ro.
The accident took place near Bârlad, in the commune of Sârbi, in an area that had been hit by snow overnight. Vaslui County is under an orange alert for blizzard conditions. The Podul Înalt Inspectorate for Emergency Situations in Vaslui County responded with six special vehicles and crews.
“According to initial information, a bus with 40 people on board is involved in the accident. The bus overturned. The red alert was put in place at 12:09 p.m.,” said Marius Stanciu, spokesperson for the Vaslui Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
The bus was registered in Iași County and was traveling to Moldova, according to representatives of the Vaslui County Police Inspectorate.
The injured were taken to the hospital in Bârlad. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
