Moldova IGSU responds to 62 stranded motorist calls
Rescuers from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) in Moldova have responded to 62 calls for assistance to stranded motorists in the wake of heavy snowfall.
The IGSU said that the calls came from all over the country, including the Orhei, Anenii Noi, Căușeni, Cahul, Comrat districts, and Gagauzia Autonomous Territorial Unit.
In one incident, rescuers from Anenii Noi district towed a vehicle that had skidded off the road in the village of Troița Nouă. The vehicle was carrying four people, including two children. The rescuers transported the passengers to the Maternal Placement Center in Anenii Noi town.
In total, 250 rescuers and firefighters with 61 units of equipment are involved in the clearing and towing missions in all districts of the country.
