Empowering change: New agency targets family violence
In 2024, the Republic of Moldova will establish the National Agency for the Prevention and Combating of Violence against Women and Family Violence.
The Executive approved the organisational structure and regulations on Wednesday, outlining the mission, areas of activity, responsibilities, and the organisational framework of the Agency.
The document dictates the mission, fields of activity, duties, and organisational aspects of the Agency. It will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and evaluating policies aimed at preventing and combating violence against women and family violence. Additionally, the Agency will coordinate inter-institutional activities and facilitate collaboration between competent public administration authorities and civil society.
The Agency will hold the status of a central administrative authority under the Government and will consist of 22 staff units, including 6 leadership positions, 15 executive roles, and 1 technical support position.
