Second round of repeated elections will be held on Sunday in Aluatu village, Taraclia disctrict
Tomorrow, December 3, in the village of Aluatu, district of Taraclia, the second round of repeated voting for the election of the mayor of the locality will take place, informs the Central Electoral Commission. Electoral competitors from the "Party of Change" and the "Party of Socialists from the Republic of Moldova" political party are running for the mayoral mandate.
According to the CEC, only one polling station will be opened in the locality, with 770 voters included on the basic electoral lists. The polling station will be open between 07:00 and 21:00. For this election, 768 ballot papers were printed (500 in Romanian and 268 in Russian).
In order for the elections to be declared valid, at least 20% of the number of people registered in the electoral lists must participate in them.
Also, the Central Electoral Commission informs that, until today at 14:00, voters who cannot go to the polling station can request a mobile ballot box at home. They can also request a mobile ballot box on voting day, until 2:00 p.m., with the request accompanied by a medical certificate.
We remind you that, following the organization of the general local elections on November 5, it was found that in 8 localities in the country, a participation of less than ¼ of the number of people registered in the electoral lists was recorded, including in the village of Aluatu, Taraclia district. After the repeated voting on November 19, 2023, in this locality none of the 3 candidates for the position of mayor got more than half of the number of votes validly cast, to be elected in the first round.
