Alaiba: Entrepreneurs, town halls and central institutions will have access to European funds for digitization

Entrepreneurs, town halls and central institutions will be able to access European funds for digitization, announced the Minister of Economic Development and Digitization, Dumitru Alaiba, on his Facebook page. According to the official, the Chisinau authorities completed the negotiations with the European Union for our country's accession to the Digital Europe Program.

"We have completed the negotiations with the EU for our country's accession to the Digital Europe Program. This program (Digital Europe Programme) means access to funds to increase the digitization of businesses, citizens and administrations on the continent. In total funds available for all member countries of the program until 2027 - 7.5 billion EURO. Entrepreneurs, town halls and central institutions will be able to access European funds for digitization. Another opportunity from the EU", wrote the minister.

The Digital Europe Program is an EU funding program focused on facilitating the use of digital technology by businesses, citizens and public administrations.

Digital Europe provides funding, supporting projects in five key areas: supercomputing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, advanced digital skills and ensuring the widespread use of digital technologies across the economy and society, including through digital innovation hubs. With a total budget planned until 2027 of €7.5 billion, the Program aims to boost economic recovery and shape the digital transformation of European society and economy, benefiting everyone, but especially small and medium-sized enterprises.

It will complement the funding available through other EU programmes: the Horizon Europe program for research and innovation, the Connecting Europe Facility for Digital Infrastructure, the Recovery and Resilience Facility and the Structural Funds. It is part of the multiannual financial framework 2021-2027.
