Top of the most powerful military forces in the world. Where is the Republic of Moldova

The annual ranking of the most powerful military forces in the world by Global Fire Power (GFP) places the Republic of Moldova in 143rd place out of 145 countries analyzed in 2023. The first place in the ranking is occupied by the United States of America while Bhutan is in the last position.

According to the GFP analysis, the Republic of Moldova is located between Somalia and Benin. Romania ranks 47th in the ranking, while Ukraine, a country at war, ranks 15th.

The top three military powers, according to the GPF ranking, are the United States of America, Russia and China. The top ten countries with the most powerful armies in the world also include: India, Great Britain, South Korea, Pakistan, Japan, France and Italy.

Moldova 1 recalls that the Republic of Moldova announced a record increase in the defense budget for 2023, by over 68 percent, in the context of the war in Ukraine. Recently, the Intelligence and Security Service in Chisinau warned that Russia has launched an aggressive hybrid war against the country.
