Ongoing war in Ukraine: Latest developments

On Friday morning, the Ukrainian Air Force issued an urgent warning regarding potential Russian cruise missile strikes. Authorities reported that the projectiles were launched from strategic Tu-95MS bombers and directed towards southern and eastern regions.

An air raid alert was issued around 6:30 AM local time, prompting residents in the targeted areas to seek immediate shelter. According to the Air Force's statement on Telegram, "The first group of missiles was headed from the Kharkiv region towards the Dnipropetrovsk region, but the course could change."

This warning follows overnight attacks on the city of Kharkiv, where multiple Russian missiles caused damage to residential buildings and injured at least one person. Local officials confirmed that the Kholodnohirskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts were hit, with preliminary reports indicating the projectiles were S-300 missiles.

Oleg Synegubov, head of the regional military administration, confirmed the strike and reported the injured person's hospitalization. He further stated on Telegram, "Do not ignore the air raid alert."

These recent developments highlight the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which has resulted in widespread devastation and casualties since Russia's invasion in February 2022. The international community has responded with sanctions against Russia and significant aid for Ukrainian forces and civilians.
