Preparations for the European Council meeting. Maia Sandu, phone conversations with the president of Lithuania and the prime ministers of Denmark and Italy
The reforms implemented by the Chisinau authorities in order to modernize the Republic of Moldova were the topics discussed by President Maia Sandu during a phone conversation with the President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, with the Head of the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen and with the President of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Italy, Giorgia Meloni.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu emphasized the firm commitment of Chisinau to follow the European path.
Thus, with the president of Lithuania, Maia Sandu discussed the importance of continuous collaboration between our countries to strengthen the capacities of public institutions in Moldova, essential in the European integration process.
In the dialogue with the Danish prime minister, the head of state welcomed the initiative to open the Danish embassy in Chisinau next year, an important step in strengthening bilateral relations.
Also, in the conversation with Italian Prime Minister Meloni, the importance of trade links between Chisinau and Rome was emphasized.
We remind you that previously, the spokesperson of the Government, Daniel Vodă, declared that the Chisinau authorities will make more and more efforts focused on the external plan, in order to promote the message of the European integration of the Republic of Moldova. The actions take place in the context in which there are only a few days left until the European Council meeting in mid-December, when it will be decided the possible opening of the accession negotiations of the Republic of Moldova to the EU.
