Japan offers $10 million to Ukraine and neighbouring countries, including the Republic of Moldova, to combat COVID-19
The Government of Japan has approved financial aid in the amount of $10,000,000 for urgent response measures of the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding the fight COVID-19 and other infectious diseases in Ukraine and neighbouring countries, including the Republic of Moldova.
According to the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Moldova, through the Regional Office of the WHO for Europe, medical devices, medicines, personal protective equipment and others will be offered to displaced people in Ukraine and neighbouring countries such as the Republic of Moldova, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, the Republic Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
The aid represents Phase Two of financial assistance from April 2022 for WHO's urgent response measures to combat COVID-19 and other infectious diseases in Ukraine and neighbouring countries.
