The Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu mentioned that today's vote of the European Council is a historic moment for the Republic of Moldova, marking the most important step so far towards our accession to the great family of the European Union.

Day by day, in recent years, despite all the crises, we have been guided by European values, we have affirmed our place in the world as a free country that protects people's life and dignity. The decision of the European Council is a consolidated message of a confident Europe that defends peace and builds a solid democratic future given to the whole world.
In this way, I want to thank my colleagues in the Parliament, the Government, the Presidency and many other institutions, but also our citizens, who have worked and will continue to work with dedication so that this wish becomes, as soon as possible, a reality. Thanks to our friends from Bucharest, the MEPs from Brussels and all those who supported us along the way. We are committed to a fair and merit-based negotiation process, and we will continue to conscientiously do our homework.
