After an important period in which we successfully implemented the recommendations of the European Union, the member states of the Union issued a positive vote for the opening of accession negotiations with our country. Today's decision represents a historic moment for the Republic of Moldova, marking the most important step so far towards our accession to the great family of the European Union, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu.
*"In recent years, we have collaborated closely with all state institutions to implement essential reforms. Achieving 94% of the European Commission's recommendations is a clear proof of our determination to make concrete changes and to bring the Republic of Moldova to European standards. We are on the right track and we are determined to continue this transformation.
This is the beginning of our journey towards full EU membership. Important negotiations and continued reforms await us, but we are determined to follow this path, because we know that joining the EU is our path to prosperity, stability and security. We begin this phase with a solid foundation, evidenced by a dynamic pace of progress, including in the 35 accession chapters, of which 9 are making substantial progress.
