Moldova celebrates EU accession talks launch
Marking a momentous step in its European journey, Moldova prepares to celebrate "European Moldova" on Sunday, December 17, with President Maia Sandu extending an open invitation to all citizens.
The event, commencing at 2 p.m., coincides with the European Council's historic decision to initiate accession negotiations for the country's membership in the European Union (EU).
President Sandu's message resonated with optimism and a call to action. "This is a day etched in our nation's history," she declared, "a day that ignites hope and unlocks opportunities for every Moldovan." The celebratory event serves not only as a milestone acknowledgement but also as a platform to galvanise collective effort towards building a "European Moldova," a nation where, as Sandu emphasised, "everyone thrives and enjoys a fulfilling life."
Sandu's call for unity resonated further, urging all institutions, partners, and entrepreneurs to actively champion the country's European path. This collective pursuit, she believes, will not only secure the EU's trust but also pave the way for a brighter future for all.
