Parliament will hold hearings on the evolution of the "Theft of the Billion" file
In the plenary session of the parliament, information will be presented regarding the evolution of the "Theft of the Billion" file. The hearings regarding the progress of the actions in the process of recovering the financial means stolen from the banking system were included on the agenda of the plenary sessions that will take place between December 21 and 28, 2023. The information presented by the General Prosecutor's Office, the prosecutor's offices, the National Anticorruption Center, the Intelligence and Security Service, the Agency for the Recovery of Criminal Assets, the National Bank of Moldova, the Ministry of Finance and the National Union of Lawyers will be examined.
At the last meetings of the Parliament in the autumn session of 2023, the deputies will examine more than 50 legislative initiatives. Among them are the draft law on the state budget for 2024, the draft law on the state social insurance budget for 2024 and the draft law on mandatory health care insurance funds for 2024. The agenda also included several projects that provide for the harmonization of national legislation with that of the European Union, as well as the ratification of some agreements between the Republic of Moldova and development partners.
Deputies will also examine amendments to the Law on the exercise of the medical profession, the Law on culture, the Law on Waste, the Law on IT parks, etc.
