Anca Dragu will be proposed for the position of governor of the National Bank of Moldova

Today, in the plenary session of the Parliament, the candidacy of Mrs. Anca Dragu will be proposed for the position of governor of the National Bank of Moldova. The announcement was made by deputy Radu Marian on his Facebook page.

Anca Dragu has significant experience in the financial-banking sector and in public policies and EU accession. Anca Dragu worked for more than 15 years within the National Bank of Romania and the International Monetary Fund and she was Minister of Public Finance in the Government of Romania. In 2020, she was elected president of the Romanian Senate.

"We have every confidence that Anca Dragu will contribute to increasing the integrity and independence of the National Bank of Moldova", wrote Radu Marian.

We remind you that on Thursday, the governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Octavian Armașu, was dismissed from his position. A decision was approved during the Parliament session, with the vote of 81 deputies.
