Anca Dragu's first reaction, after she was proposed as governor of the National Bank of Moldova: It is an honor to contribute to the European path of the Republic of Moldova

The former Minister of Public Finance of Romania, Anca Dragu, came with a reaction after she was proposed for the position of governor of the National Bank of Moldova. Her candidacy is to be voted on during the Parliament session on Friday, December 22.

"It is an honor for me to contribute to the European path of the Republic of Moldova. It will not be an easy road, but with patience, determination and skill we will be able to complete the European project", said Anca Dragu.

According to the Romanian media, Anca Dragu has already taken the oath as a citizen of the Republic of Moldova.

Anca Dragu has significant experience in the financial-banking sector and in public policies and EU accession. Anca Dragu worked for more than 15 years within the National Bank of Romania and the International Monetary Fund and she was Minister of Public Finance in the Government of Romania. In 2020, she was elected president of the Romanian Senate.

We remind you that on Thursday, the governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Octavian Armașu, was dismissed from his position. A decision in this sense was approved during the Parliament session, with the vote of 81 deputies.
